Mark Braud: Living the Tradition

Old Saw Music is proud to present Mark Braud’s Living the Tradition, a New Orleans album full of original traditional jazz, New Orleans R&B, and a few other gems in the idiom.

This album has a few vocal songs (Trouble, I Should’ve Known, and Mary Jane) along with several instrumentals to bring New Orleans to you in whatever fashion you fancy.


These songs are performed by an all-star cast of New Orleans musicians: Mark Braud (trumpet and vocals, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Harry Connick, Jr.), Lucien Barbarin (trombone, Harry Connick, Jr., Preservation Hall Jazz Band), Tim Laughlin (clarinet, Pete Fountain, Al Hirt), Roderick Paulin (tenor saxophone, clarinet, Delfeayo Marsalis’ Uptown Jazz Orchestra, Rebirth Brass Band), Ronell Johnson (tuba, trombone, Preservation Hall Jazz Band), Herlin Riley (drums, Wynton Marsalis, Ahmad Jamal), Gerald French (vocals, The Dixie Cups, The Original Tuxedo Jazz Band, Charmaine Neville), Mark Brooks (bass, the Neville Brothers, Dr. John), Meghan Swartz (piano, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Leroy Jones, Delfeayo Marsalis’ Uptown Jazz Orchestra).
